River of Life Socks     This stitch pattern is one of my favorites. The way it is made—by increasing stitches at the edges, then decreasing them in the center—reminds me of how everything in life comes and goes—birth and death—and that the cycle is continuous and always beginning and ending at the same time. This technique, combined with knit and purl stitches creates a beautiful wave-like effect, and together with the blue yarn it reminds me of a flowing river—thus we have, the river of life.       $5.00 Pattern available as a downloadable pdf. Sizes: To fit Women's US sizes 5–7 (8–10) Finished Measurements: 6½ (8)" leg circumference; 4½ (5½)" leg length; 7¼ (8¼)" foot circumference; 9 (10)" foot length, or desired length.
