Fraternal Socks     My boyfriends aunt Judy is a fabulous fiber artist. She dyes her own fabric, then uses it to construct beautiful masterpieces (such as this). Each year the adults in his family are part of a grab, and they have one person in the family for whom to get a gift. This year I had Judy. I wanted to design and knit her something spectacular! So I wracked my brain trying to think of what to do… One morning while sharing the elevator with one of the artists who worked in the same building as me, we sparked a conversation about her socks. They were made to look the same, but used the same colors in different places on each sock. I was intrigued at the concept, so immediately began creating a design that looked nothing like the socks I had just seen, but that used the concept of mismatched/matching socks.
