Light Bolero     The design for this bolero came about one hot summer day when the office air conditioning blew me chilly. I longed for something to cover my shoulders and protect me from the cold, but I wanted it to be airy enough to wear in the warm outdoors. This lacy cotton shrug fits the bill. Knitted in a single piece that's shaped from the right sleeve, across the back, and ends at the left sleeve, it's a bit more challenging, but well worth the effort. Sleeve and Body Lace—U.S. Size 9 (5.5 mm): 32" circular and dpns. Trim—U.S. Size 9 (5.5 mm) 40" circular. Or sizes needed to obtain gauge. Notions: markers; stitch holders or waste yarn; one 1" button. Gauge: 17 sts and 24 rows = 4" in lace patt on larger needles. 18 sts and 27 rows = 4" in ridges patt on smaller needles.
